Dr. Kaisha is originally from Spirit Lake, Iowa. Her passion for dentistry was sparked while attending the University of Northern Colorado. Dr. Kaisha played basketball for the UNC Bears, earning All-Big Sky Conference and All-Academic honors during her athletic career. (Fun Fact – she scored her 1,000th career point in her final game for the Bears!)
Dr. Kaisha returned to Iowa to attend dental school at the University of Iowa. Graduating in 2016, she received the Academy of General Dentistry Student of the Year Award her fourth year. In March 2017, Dr. Kaisha founded Waukee Dental. Her goal is to make every patient feel comfortable and at home while providing exceptional dental care. She enjoys being a leader in the dental community. Currently serving on the Des Moines Dental District Committee and the Iowa Dental Association New Dentist Committee. Dr. Kaisha remains committed to staying on the cutting edge of dental treatment as a member of a Spear Dental Study Club. Dr. Heemskerk’s dental and leadership experience, awards, distinctions and volunteer efforts are a true reflection of her drive to provide you with the very best dental care possible.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Brent, and dog, Kemba. The Heemskerks enjoy traveling, watching basketball, and spending time with friends and family.
